The effort to provide the students, staff, and administration with an updated Memorial School commenced in 2018 with Trident being selected as the Pelham School District’s OPM after a successful engagement on the Pelham High School project.
The project saw the leadership of three School District Superintendents. Under the leadership of Dr. “Chip” McGee and the support of so many in the Town of Pelham, a vote to move ahead was approved and the project began in earnest.
The Project Team main participants were Dr. McGee, Deb Mahoney, Stacy Maghakian, Brian Sands (Pelham District Team), Trident Project Advantage Group (OPM), Bonnette Page & Stone Corp. (CM/Builder) and Harriman Architects (Designers), although many more were involved, too many to list.
Budgets and schedules were established in advance of the positive Town Vote. Then, a little disruption occurred to turn the Project and the world upside down – COVID-19. The budget could not change and there was no appetite to return to the Town taxpayers to ask for more.
Despite shortages, delays in material availability, cost spikes, etc., the Project Team spent countless hours in meetings, with consultants, vendors, and suppliers, to complete the Project for the budgeted amount. Trident appreciates the hard work of all, and, especially the leadership of Dr. McGee and the watchful fiscal eye of Deborah Mahoney.
