Detailed design efforts are underway for the new Salem NH Police Department facility after an overwhelming positive Town Vote in support of this needed project that is long overdue.
The new facility encompasses a 2-story cost-effective design of approximately 31,600 SF plus a Training Facility/Range and a K9 Outbuilding. After a detailed review and analysis of several sites, building options, and benchmarking efforts, the Municipal Building Advisory Committee (MBAC) voted to recommend the above design to the Town Council for their approval and Town Vote this past March.

The new facility will be constructed on the current location of the Police Station so as to avoid the cost of purchasing a new parcel and keeping its central location for proper response times for the protection of the public.

The current facility will be vacated and the operation moved to the DPW location. The DPW facility will be renovated for long-term use by the DPW after the police personnel move to their new building. Trident introduced this current municipal property enhancement option rather than temporary facilities expenditures that would be “thrown away” after use. This approach minimally impacts wetlands, expedites the construction timeline, and allows the Police Department to function seamlessly during the building process.
Trident is pleased to be the OPM for the MBAC on all the Town’s Municipal facilities and on this first important project.
