Edgewood LifeCare Community

Expansion of the Continuum of Care Programs by undertaking of Multi-Phased Renovations and New Facilities improvements, all requiring minimal disruption and the safe and simultaneous use of the existing facilities by residents, staff, supply purveyors, and service providers. Construction activities adjacent to existing building and finely manicured grounds required careful orchestration of each task and phase. Resident safety and comfort was a priority. Much effort was undertaken to keep residents informed via meetings, print and electronic media methods.

Project Highlights

• Assembling a Project Team of Owner, Owner’s Project Manager, Resident, Operator, Designers and Engineers, and others that worked together to achieve the goals of the Project.
• Development of a Master Program and Master Project Budget to maximize efficiency of space use/operational requirements and while observing and ensuring strict financial oversight.
• Development of a Master Schedule and Phasing Plan incorporating DPH, State and Town regulatory and permitting requirements without delay of multiple area turnover/completions.

The Villages at Edgewood

Described as "a continuing care community in an historic pastoral landscape," The Villages provides independent living in well-crafted homes, supported by the adjacent full service Continuum of Care healthcare facility. Twenty-four units of unique, mobility featured, and energy efficient concepts were designed and constructed for this group of residents. Much effort was undertaken to comply with the requirements of the Owner to incorporate the farm setting while creating warm, inviting and walking friendly neighborhoods among the rolling hills of the former Roger’s farm.

Project Highlights

• Strict adherence to Conservation Commission Conditions that allowed construction within a tight development envelope.
• Restoration of the original Horse Barn as an operating centerpiece to the Project of 24 character cottages which includes a replica of the original Dairy Barn into 2 large units.
• Extensive landscape and hardscape design and construction complying with the Owner’s directive to focus upon individual unit privacy while celebrating the pastoral setting of the community.
