As a result of Rivier University’s recent master planning efforts, with the design team of Derck & Edson, LLC, this new 34,000 SF Science and Innovation Center is a key component of the University’s strategic plan Vision 2020 and its commitment to Science research.
The facility will replace aging classroom buildings to allow for the consolidation of innovative experiences for biology, biotechnology, chemistry, nursing and public health programs to one central location.
Continuing the University’s commitment to innovation in science, the symbolic importance of the new center is reinforced by its prominent location at the gateway to the campus.
The building design is centered with a beautiful main entry experience that features science on display using state-of-the-art digital display walls bordered by a 2-story student lounge with a monumental stair. This collaborative space sets the tone for the entire science center. Transitioning to the core of the building, a new home for lab spaces, active learning, and student and faculty research elevates the academic experience at Rivier.
The Science and Innovation Center project is anticipated to be complete for the start of the 2020 fall semester. Trident is proud to have been selected by Rivier to support them on a transformative project for their campus.
